Edwin Neo Xuan Hao

Edwin graduated from Singapore Management University (“SMU”) with a Juris Doctor (“JD”) degree (Cum Laude) in 2020, wherein he had a strong focus on intellectual property law and related subjects. He was then called to the bar in 2021. During his pursuit of his JD, he obtained the semi-finalist position in the Gowling WLG IP Moot, and also represented SMU internationally in the Herbert Smith Freehill Competition Law Moot. He also published as the first author of the article “The Patent Linkage Scheme for Pharmaceuticals in Singapore: Assessment and Suggestions for Reform (2022) 34 SAcLJ 469” published in Singapore Academy of Law Journal.

Prior to studying law, he was trained in the Renaissance Engineering Programme (First Class Honours) in Nanyang Technological University and has had experience as a bioengineer, specializing in bone tissue engineering. He is the second author of the article “Controlled release of dexamethasone in PCL/silk fibroin/ascorbic acid nanoparticles for the initiation of adipose derived stem cells into osteogenesis” in the Journal of Drug Metabolism & Toxicology. He is confident of putting his technical understanding of engineering to good use when handling complex patent and copyright matters.

Edwin advises and act for clients in intellectual property prosecution, advisory, enforcement and litigation matters. Edwin also has experience in dispute resolution of a vast variety of matters, covering topics such as defamation, personal injuries (insurance) and insolvency.

During his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano and running.
