Marcus Chan Wei Jun

Marcus graduated from the University of Bristol in 2017 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), where he served as Sports Director of the Malaysian and Singaporean Students’ Association. He was called to the Singapore Bar in mid-2020.

Marcus handles the trade mark portfolios of many local and international clients by advising them on global IP filing strategy, as well as prosecution and management of their IP. He has represented several companies across diverse industry sectors in dispute resolution matters relating to trade mark, passing off, copyright and patents before the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and the Courts. He is also actively involved in negotiating out-of-court settlements and co-existence agreements.

In addition, Marcus advises on a variety of commercial and non-contentious work in relation to intellectual property law, such as preparing IP agreements in relation to franchising, licensing, distributorship, data protection and information technology matters across various industries.

Marcus also maintains an active brand protection practice, where he regularly advises on tackling IP enforcement issues by assisting on raids, seizures and initiating civil actions. He is also familiar with online matters, including domain name disputes falling under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and Singapore Dispute Resolution Policy (SDRP).
